MACHINE ROBO MUGENBINE

MUGEN GATTAI

A continuation of the Machine Robo Rescue line, these sets feature a core robot called a Mugenroid that simply folds into a cube, with (some) positionable pegs.  On these pegs fit additional parts that each set come with, called Bine Parts.  These pieces help to form the individual machine, animal and in some cases a larger robo mode.  All of the Mugenroids share the same overall design, but with one exception.  Each of their heads feature a likeness of their animal mode as well as the letter of the alphabet they represent.  Later on in the line the core robot was replaced with a Turboroid.  They were robots that featured wheels and a little more articulation.  They could still form a cube with positionable pegs.  One of the neat concepts of this line is that all of the Bine Parts are interchangleable with each other, as well as the various Mugenroids and Turboroids.  With a lot of imagination some very interesting models can be constructed.

PRIZE TOYS
During the course of the 'alphabet' line of Mugenbine, the official website (http://www.mr-club.jp), ran several contests along with other venues to offer some very limited pieces.  I own the Mugen Protocore, but it's the only one I've ever seen offered on-line.  As for the others, good luck as some of them are more limited than some Lucky Draw Transformer items!

CANDY TOYS
Offered mainly in Japanese convience stores, these ABS plastic kits aren't as constructed as well as the main line sets, but are a great addition to anyone's MRM collection.  Most of them can form various weapons for your other MRM sets in addition to their own beast and robo modes.  Highly recommended if you can find them for sale.

JUUKI GATTAI
These sets offered a new twist to the Mugenbine sets previously offered.  Each of these sets featured a Mugenbox, a large hollow container like piece that helped form larger machine, dino and robo modes.  These were the first multi-mode sets.  Mugenbuilder & Mugenhercules are the recommended sets.

ENGINE & MUGEN GATTAI
A new direction for the Mugenbine line in 2006.  The Mugen Engine was introduced and in the larger sets replaced the core Mugenroid/Turboroid.  These Engine cubes had 2 different sections that Bine Parts could be attached to and would spin under the right conditions.  I myself didn't care for these as much, but they did offer some unique designs.  The few Gattai sets released were some of the best, with Spitcobra leading the way.

BUILD GATTAI
2007's new theme, not much is known about this line at the moment.  It appears that each set comes with a Mugen Roider figure with shares a strong resemblence to the human pilots from the MR Rescue anime series.  Each Roider figure fits inside a exo-suit like robot, which then can form a larger robot or other various modes.
